La Pedriza: Located in the Sierra de Guadarrama, La Pedriza is one of the best spots for outdoor rock climbing near Madrid. It’s known for its unique granite formations and has a variety of routes for all skill levels.

Patones: This small town located about an hour from Madrid is another popular spot for outdoor climbing. It has a variety of routes, from easy to challenging, and is surrounded by beautiful scenery.

La Cabrera: This area is located about an hour from Madrid and has a mix of sport and traditional climbing routes. It’s a great spot for intermediate and advanced climbers.

Zarzalejo: This area is known for bouldering on granite rock formations and is located about an hour from Madrid. It has a variety of routes for all skill levels and is a popular destination for climbers in the area.

Peñalara: This mountain is located in the Sierra de Guadarrama and is a popular spot for hiking and winter mountaineering , but it also has some great climbing routes. It’s a bit more challenging than some of the other spots on this list, so it’s best for experienced climbers. Use of chalk is forbidden.

Valdemanco: This small town is located about 50 km north of Madrid and has some great outdoor climbing routes. It’s a bit less crowded than some of the other areas on this list, so it’s a great option if you’re looking for a more secluded climbing experience.
