Tips to clean and care your Wetsuit
To keep your neoprene wetsuit in top condition for canyoning, surfing, diving, or other water activities, follow these steps for cleaning and maintenance:
1. Rinse After Every Use
- Freshwater Rinse: Immediately after use, rinse your wetsuit thoroughly with cold or lukewarm freshwater (never hot water).
- Inside & Outside: Turn it inside out to ensure both sides are clean.
- Remove Salt, Sand, and Dirt: If used in saltwater or muddy environments, soak in clean water for a few minutes before rinsing.

2. Deep Cleaning (After Several Uses)
- Use Wetsuit Shampoo: Every few uses, wash your wetsuit with a wetsuit cleaner or a mild, non-detergent soap.
- Avoid Harsh Chemicals: No bleach, strong detergents, or fabric softeners.
- Gentle Scrub: If needed, gently scrub problem areas with a soft sponge.
3. Drying Properly
- Air Dry in Shade: Hang it in a shaded, well-ventilated area to prevent sun damage.
- Use a Wide Hanger: Use a thick plastic hanger or drape it over a rod to avoid stretching the shoulders.
- Turn Inside Out: Dry inside first, then flip it right side out.
4. Storage
- Flat or Folded Loosely: Lay it flat or fold it loosely at the waist to avoid creases.
- Avoid Heat & Sun: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
- No Plastic Bags: Neoprene needs to breathe, so avoid airtight storage.
5. Preventing Odors & Bacteria
- Use an Anti-Bacterial Cleaner: Occasionally, use a specialized wetsuit deodorizer.
- Vinegar Rinse: A mix of water and white vinegar (10:1 ratio) helps prevent bacteria buildup.
- Dry Thoroughly: Never store it wet to prevent mold and bad smells.
6. Repair Small Tears
- Neoprene Glue: Fix small cuts with wetsuit repair glue.
- Patch Kits: For larger rips, use a neoprene patch.
7. Avoid Common Mistakes
- No Washing Machine/Dryer: The heat and agitation damage neoprene.
- No Sun Drying: UV rays weaken and crack the material.
- No Folding Creases: Long-term creases damage the elasticity.
By following these care tips, your wetsuit will stay flexible, comfortable, and last much longer!
