ENJOY TRAD CLIMBING IN MADRID WITH DREAMPEAKS. GUIDED TRAD CLIMBING TOURS IN MADRID.
Traditional (or trad) climbing, is a style of rock climbing in which a climber or group of climbers place all gear required to protect against falls, and remove it when a pitch is complete. Traditional bolted face climbing means the bolts were placed on lead and/or with hand drills.
Madrid and The Sierra de Guadarrama National Park are unknown paradises for climbers. 5-stars rock climbing spots like La Pedriza, Patones, la Cabrera and many other crags offer more than 4,000 climbing routes on granite and limestone. Discover with our certified climbing guides and instructors the best outdoor locations for trad climbing in sunny mild weather, even during the winter season. Travel just one hour by car to the best climbing areas in the Madrid region and Sierra de Guadarrama National Park.
“La Cabrera” mountain chain with the magnificent “Pico de la Miel” dome on the right offers semi-equipped mult-pitch routes. The climbing is charaterised by long cracks and dihedrals that are used to place protection (friends, nuts) to secure the ascent. This is not an area for beginner climbers and proper training in trad climbs is required! Its highest summit, Pico de la Miel, is a granite spur with perfect cracks and dihedral walls. We will reach its summit after heading up its most famous route: Espolón Manolín.
“La Pedriza” is a spectacular national park covering 3,200 hectares. Its peculiar granite rock formations is a paradise for multipitch climbing routes and trad climbing. The friction slab climbing style typical of La Pedriza requires good foot technique and patience.
Climb with us the scenic and magnificent granite walls of El Yelmo, El Pájaro, Peña Sirio, el Hueso o Pared de Santillana.
